5 Epic Central Coast eBike Trails (Ranked by the Best Pub Lunches & Bakeries)

5 Epic Family Bike trails, Pubs Bakeries to ride on Central Coast NSW

The Central Coast is quietly becoming the eBike capital of New South Wales. With endless shared coastal pathways and pristine lakeside loops, it offers some of the most versatile riding in the country.

But let’s be honest: when you're riding with the family or your mates, the trail is only as good as the food at the end of it. Whether you are hauling a toddler on a 2-seater eBike or cruising with a crew on fat-tyre cruisers, you don't just need a map. You need to know exactly where the emergency toilets are, which bakery you can use as a bribe for the kids, and where to find the best pub lunch so you can reward yourself for all that "hard work" (even if the pedal-assist did 90% of it).

We’ve mapped out the 5 best eBike trails on the Central Coast, complete with distance, elevation, and most importantly—the best pubs, bakeries, and ice cream shops along the way.

1. The Great Lakeside Pub & Pastry Pedal (The Entrance to Long Jetty)

Formerly known as the Tuggerah Lakes Loop.

This is the ultimate family marathon. The shared pathway hugging Tuggerah Lakes is entirely flat, making it incredibly easy for the motor to do the heavy lifting while you take in the glassy water views.

Distance: Up to 47km (Return) if you ride The Loop.

Difficulty: Easy (100% Flat)

The "Are We There Yet?" Factor: Moderate. It’s flat, but it's long. Break it up with pelican spotting at Canton Beach.

The Emergency Toilet Stop: Saltwater Creek Reserve in Long Jetty. It has great public amenities, wide open spaces, and a playground.

The Bakery Bribe: Pull up to Green Tangerine in Long Jetty. Must try: Their legendary Berry Nice waffles. It’s flaky, buttery, and guaranteed to keep the kids quiet for at least ten minutes.

The Ultimate Pub Lunch: Roll back into town and park the bikes at The Lakes Hotel right in the heart of The Entrance. After testing your leg strength all day, it’s time to do a couple of bicep curls—grab the kids a lemonade and get yourself a schooner of "adult apple juice" (beer). Pair it with their monster Aussie burger.

Best eWhip Model: The Captain—Perfect for chewing up paved miles in absolute comfort.

2. The National Park Bakery Sprint (The Entrance North to Norah Head)

Known as the Magenta Shared Pathway.

This newly completed pathway bridges the gap between The Entrance North and Toukley, winding directly through the lush Wyrrabalong National Park. It’s entirely off-road, making it incredibly safe and stress-free for parents.

Distance: 12.6 km (Return)

Difficulty: Very Easy (Under 30m total elevation)

The "Are We There Yet?" Factor: Low. The dense coastal rainforest scenery changes constantly.

The Emergency Toilet Stop: Jenny Dixon Beach Reserve right near the end of the trail has solid public toilets and a fantastic ocean view.

The Bakery Bribe: Lock up the bikes at Norah Head and head straight to Norah Head Patisserie. Must try: You haven't lived until you've smashed their classic Ned Kelly pie overlooking the lighthouse.

The Ultimate Pub Lunch: Push a little further into Toukley to the newly revamped Beachcomber Hotel (The Beachie). Sit out on the deck overlooking the lake and order the salt and pepper squid.

Best eWhip Model: The Boom Ideal for dipping off the path and hitting the sandy fringes.

3. The Brisbane Water Fish, Chips & Pints Cruise (Gosford to Woy Woy)

Formerly known as the Brisbane Water Cycleway.

A favourite for locals who want uninterrupted water views without fighting the coastal winds. This fully sealed path follows the edge of Brisbane Water and is protected enough to make for a brilliant, relaxed weekend cruise.

Distance: 24 km (Return)

Difficulty: Easy

The "Are We There Yet?" Factor: Moderate. The scenery is stunning, but it's a solid ride.

The Emergency Toilet Stop: Bookmark Koolewong Waterfront Reserve or Fagan Park at Point Clare for fantastic public toilets and fenced playgrounds.

The Bakery Bribe: Feed the kids at the Woy Woy Fisherman’s Wharf. Must try: The local flathead and chips. (Beware the seagulls—they are fearless and will launch a coordinated attack for a hot chip).

The Ultimate Pub Lunch: You have epic bookends on this ride. Start your journey near the heritage-listed, award-winning Hotel Gosford, and when you reach the finish line, park up at The Bayview Hotel in Woy Woy. Their beer garden overlooking the water is legendary. Grab a pint of local craft beer and soak it all in.

Best eWhip Model: The Boom—The wide, flat paths make this the safest route for hauling a passenger.

4. The Peninsula Gelato & Beer Garden Glideway (Umina Beach to Ettalong Point)

Formerly known as the Umina to Ettalong Coast Track.

Short, sweet, and incredibly scenic. This ride is for those who want a 30-minute cruise rather than a half-day expedition. It hugs the southern peninsula, offering unmatched views across the water to the northern beaches of Sydney.

Distance: 8 km (Return)

Difficulty: Very Easy (Extremely Family Friendly)

The "Are We There Yet?" Factor: Zero. By the time they ask, you are already at the destination eating dessert.

The Emergency Toilet Stop: Umina Beach has a massive recreation precinct right at the start line with modern toilets, a skate park, and a mega playground.

The Bakery Bribe: This is the ultimate sweet-tooth route. Hit up Sundae Sesh for award-winning scoops, or grab authentic Italian dessert from Amalfi Gelato & Pizza Bar. Must try: Amalfi's Pistachio Gelato is next level.

The Ultimate Pub Lunch: Roll right into the heart of town to The Ettalong. It’s a classic coastal pub with a massive family-friendly bistro and a kids' playroom. Throw the kids in the playroom, grab a woodfired pizza, and enjoy a cold beer in peace.

Best EWhip Model: The Captain—Pure aesthetic cruising.

5. The Hinterland Tavern Burner (Ourimbah to Yarramalong)

Formerly known as the Yarramalong Hinterland Loop.

Looking to put your eBike's motor to the ultimate test? This loop leaves the coast behind and takes you deep into the Central Coast hinterland. It mixes well-groomed fire trails with asphalt.

Distance: 35 km (Loop)

Difficulty: Intermediate to Advanced

The "Are We There Yet?" Factor: N/A. Leave the young kids at home for this one unless they are teenagers on their own eBikes. It gets steep and sweaty.

The Emergency Toilet Stop: The public toilets at Ourimbah Recreation Reserve are a great place to start and finish.

The Bakery Bribe: Yarramalong Store & Cafe sits perfectly at the halfway point. Must try: Their homemade chunky steak pie. It’s exactly what you need to recharge your body (and check your battery levels) before tackling the hills again.

The Ultimate Pub Lunch: On your way back, head up to the Wyong Milk Factory Tavern. It offers incredible pub grub, ice-cold beers, and massive outdoor areas. After surviving the Bumble Hill descent, you've definitely earned a cold one.

Best eWhip Model: Off road Boom Pro—You need fat tyres, front suspension, and high torque to eat up those hinterland climbs.
