EWHIP LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY

Effective Date: 1/05/25

Applicability: Australia-wide (All States and Territories)

1. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The benefits given to you in this Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods.

2. WARRANTY PERIODS 

Ewhip warrants that the new Ewhip bicycle is free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the following periods from the date of original retail purchase:

  • Frame & Rigid Fork: 2 Years

  • Electrical Components: 1 Year (Includes: Battery, Motor, Controller, Display Screen, Wiring Harness, Charger)

  • Non-Electrical Components: 1 Year (Includes: Forks, Stem, Handlebar, Seat Post, Saddle, Brakes, Lights, Bottom Bracket, Crankset, Pedals, Rims, Wheel Hub, Freewheel, Cassette, Derailleur, Shifter)

Eligibility:

  • This warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser and is non-transferable.

  • Proof of purchase (original receipt) is required for all claims.

3. EXCLUSIONS & LIMITATIONS

This warranty does NOT cover:

  • Consumables: Normal wear and tear parts such as tyres, tubes, brake pads, cables, chains, spokes, and grips.

  • Water Damage: While Ewhip bikes are water-resistant against light rain and splashes, they are not waterproof. Damage resulting from submersion, pressure washing, or riding in heavy rain/deep puddles is not covered. Rust and corrosion are not covered.

  • Shipping Aesthetics: Minor cosmetic scratches to the frame or paint caused during shipping. In such cases, Ewhip may provide touch-up paint, but will not replace the frame or part.

  • Improper Assembly: Damage resulting from failure to follow the assembly instructions or improper maintenance.

  • Commercial Use: Damage resulting from using the bike for commercial delivery or rental purposes.

Strict Modification & Legality Clause: Any modification to the bicycle voids this warranty immediately. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Installing an aftermarket throttle.

  • Modifying or "unlocking" the speed limiter or motor controller to exceed 250W / 25km/h.

  • Removing or modifying the crank arm or pedals (e.g., installing foot pegs).

  • Cutting or altering the wiring harness.

  • Note: Modifications that increase speed or power render the bike an "unregistered motor vehicle" in most Australian states (including QLD, NSW, VIC). Ewhip accepts no liability for fines or legal issues arising from such modifications.

4. CLAIM PROCESS & CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Remote Troubleshooting: As an online retailer, we require your cooperation to diagnose issues remotely. You may be asked to:

  • Provide photos or videos of the fault.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting steps guided by our technical team.

  • Note: If a customer refuses to troubleshoot, Ewhip reserves the right to reject the claim until the fault can be verified.

Costs (Labour & Shipping): If a warrantable defect is found:

  1. Parts: Ewhip will provide the replacement part free of charge.

  2. Shipping: The customer is responsible for shipping costs for parts (unless the failure is a "Major Failure" under ACL).

  3. Labour: The warranty covers parts only. The customer is responsible for any labour costs incurred by a local bike shop to install the replacement part.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

This is the complete statement of Ewhip's warranty. To the extent permitted by law, Ewhip shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages, personal injury, property damage, or economic loss resulting from the use of the bicycle. The warranty is limited strictly to the repair or replacement of defective parts.
