🚲 Street Legality & Rules

Are EWHIP bikes street legal in Australia?
Yes, absolutely. Both "The Boom" and "The Captain" are built strictly to EN15194 Australian Standards. They feature a 250W motor and are speed-limited to 25km/h, making them 100% legal for use on public roads and cycle paths across Australia without a license or registration.

Do I need a license to ride?
No. Because our bikes are EN15194 certified, they are treated the same as regular bicycles under Australian law. No license, registration, or insurance is required.

Can I unlock the speed limit?
Our bikes are shipped with a 25km/h speed limit to ensure they are street legal. Modifying the speed settings for off-road use will void the street-legal status.

🔋 Battery & Range

How far can I ride on a single charge?
You can expect a range of up to 80km depending on terrain, rider weight, and assistance level. Our premium 48V 20Ah Samsung batteries are designed for long-distance endurance.

How do I charge the battery?
The battery is fully removable! You can unlock it and take it inside to charge at your desk or kitchen bench, or charge it directly on the bike. It plugs into any standard Australian wall outlet.

How long does it take to charge?
A full charge typically takes between 4-6 hours. Our fast charger (included) ensures you are back on the road quickly.

📦 Shipping & Assembly

Where do you ship from?
We are an Australian-owned business. All orders are processed and shipped from our Australian warehouse.

Does the bike arrive fully assembled?
Your EWHIP bike arrives 85% assembled in a secure box. You will just need to attach the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, and headlight. We include all the necessary tools and a video guide. It typically takes 30 minutes.

Can I pick up my bike?
Yes! If you are local to the Central Coast (Avoca Beach area), please select "Pick Up" at checkout or contact us to arrange a collection time.

What is the warranty?
We stand behind our quality. EWHIP offers a comprehensive warranty on the frame, motor, and battery.

What if I need spare parts?
We are not a "here today, gone tomorrow" drop-shipper. We stock a full range of spare parts (tyres, brake pads, displays, etc.) to keep you riding for years to come.

Can I ride in the rain?
Yes, our bikes are water-resistant (IP rated) and designed for real world conditions. However, we recommend avoiding deep puddles or submerging the motor/battery, and always wiping the bike down after a wet ride.
