Premium, Road-Legal Electric Bikes in Brisbane

Brisbane rewards the rider. A subtropical city wrapped around a river, laced with green bridges and some of Australia's best dedicated bikeways. EWHIP designs premium fat tyre electric bikes that blend vintage café-racer style with high-torque pedal-assist power — so you can float up the Kangaroo Point cliffs, cross the Green Bridge to St Lucia, and skip the M3 crawl entirely.

Built for Brisbane's hills, heat and humidity — and delivered fast, straight to your door.

Made for Brisbane's bikeways.
River loop to Riverwalk.

Ride the classic Brisbane River loop — the Bicentennial Bikeway through the CBD, over Goodwill Bridge, and back along the floating New Farm Riverwalk to Teneriffe. Push out to South Bank, the Kangaroo Point cliffs or the Norman Creek bikeway, and still get home on one 80km charge.

Flatten the hills: the pinch up to Paddington, Red Hill or Mount Coot-tha is nothing with high-torque Bafang pedal-assist. And our 20×4.0" Vee Mission Command fat tyres grip damp bikeways and loose trail with total confidence after a subtropical downpour.

Beat the humidity: assisted pedalling means you arrive at your West End café or Fortitude Valley meeting cool and sweat-free — no summer soak, no CityCat queue.

Fully legal to ride in QLD.
No license. No rego.

Don't risk fines or confiscation with cheap, non-compliant imports. Every EWHIP built for public roads and paths is EN15194 certified — a 250W pedal-assist "pedelec" that fully complies with the Queensland road rules set by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).

That means you're legal on Brisbane roads, bikeways and shared paths — no license, no registration and no insurance required. Just clip on a helmet and go.

Ride the river with total peace of mind.

Brisbane e-bike rules & where you can ride

In Queensland, a legal e-bike is a 250W pedal-assist "pedelec" that cuts assistance at 25 km/h and meets the EN15194 standard. Ride one and you need no licence, no registration and no CTP insurance under the rules set by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). A helmet is mandatory, and QLD is one of the more footpath-friendly states — just give way to pedestrians.

Where to ride in Brisbane:

  • Bicentennial Bikeway — the flagship riverside run through the CBD to Toowong.
  • New Farm Riverwalk — the floating walkway to Teneriffe, then loop back over Goodwill Bridge.
  • Kangaroo Point & South Bank — where Bafang torque flattens the cliff-top climbs.
  • Norman Creek & V1 bikeways — car-free arteries out to the southern suburbs.

Note: cheap "1000W" throttle imports are not legal QLD e-bikes — they are unregistered motor vehicles, and the penalties are steep. For the full national breakdown, read our 2026 guide to street-legal e-bikes in Australia.
