What makes an e-bike street-legal in Australia?
In Australia a street-legal electric bike must be 250W or less, pedal-assist only, and capped at 25 km/h, and it must be certified to EN15194. Anything 500W or above is off-road use only and can’t be ridden on public roads, footpaths or bike lanes. Every bike below is 100% street-legal and needs no licence or registration.
